040111-185709-katy-payne4The Canyon Lake Softball team lost another close game to Bulldogs on the road last Tuesday night at Bandera.

Bandera is in first place in the District 26-3A race and two of their wins have come in games against the Hawks by the slimmest of margins.

The Hawks tied the game up in the top of the seventh inning only to lose control of the game in the bottom of that same inning.

Canyon Lake was lead offensively by Vicki Henderson, getting two of the four hits in the game. Missy Romero had one hit and the only run batted in for the visitors.

Errors were the downfall in the game, as Canyon Lake finished with four giving Bandera enough base runners to end the game in their favor.

Pitcher Missy Romero only allowed one earned run in the game with the other three runs scoring with the help of errors.

The Hawks next game is against Wimberley next Monday, April 11th, starting at 6pm.

This game has added importance as Canyon Lake tries to position themselves with a better seeding for the playoffs.
