BCS Volleyball takes Rock out of the Arch

The Bracken Christian were successful in taking the keystone out of the arch for the eventual fall, as the Warriors beat Keystone, 25-12, 25-14, 25-11.

BCS was ahead 7-6 when the stone was taken away in the first game, as the Warriors scored 18-6 finish for the convincing win.

“I want the girls to always finish no matter what,” Head Coach Shaunna Teuton said. “But, we have plenty to work on.”

Always leave it to the Coach to throw some water on the party to give the players more room to grow and mature as the season progresses.

“We were feeling good,” Senior Becky Korkosz said. “We were playing really intense and we are preparing for District play.”

The Warriors hit their stride last year during the round robin district games and the young team gave plenty of hope for the future. The Warriors applied the killer instinct as they did not give Keystone any hope of seeing a weakness.

The third game only had seven girls serve, as each player scored points on their serve.

The other part of the game was on the defensive side, as middle blocker Bailey Beene did exactly what was expected…she blocked the ball.

“I like doing that a lot,” the Sophomore Beene beamed. “It’s an easy point.”

Point well taken for the Warriors as they play next Tuesday in San Marcos against Hill Country. Then, Coach Teuton will see exactly what type of team she has at the Geneva Tournament next weekend.

“The Geneva Tournament is a good tourney,” Coach Teuton finished. “Geneva won State in class 1A last season and Canterbury won State in our classification in 2A.”

The Coach always has the right to throw water on the party, hopefully the team can respond and have a water balloon fight with the water they take after the season.
