Flint Diaries

Bobby Flint

Bobby Flint will be sharing about his days of playing Football in the College level. The Flint Diaries will be coming each week.

The ReSporter hopes you find them rewarding, especially if you or your young ones also hope to someday play in the College ranks.

The day gets closer and closer. Not just any day, the day I’ve been waiting for, college football! Who would have thought the little boy from Spring Branch would be going to play college ball. August 19th can’t get here any faster, its just around the corner.

Four years ago I stepped into the halls of a brand new school loving football. Wanting every shot to get to play varsity. The nerves rushed through me then as they do now. Yes Angelo State is an old college, but the coaching staff is brand new. I may not get to start at Angelo State, but I never started on varsity at Canyon Lake till I proved myself. Here is another shot to show the coached what I’ve got.

The coaches at Canyon Lake have taught me everything they could. And to that I am required, by my choice, to give back in every way I possibly can. I WILL show the Angelo State coaches what Canyon Lakes coaching staff is about. I will show them that the coaches from Canyon Lake ARE some of the best coaches ever. I want everything they have taught me to shine through. But more importantly, I want the Angelo State coaches to see my strength and determination comes from the Great I Am, my Savior!

“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.”
1 Corinthians 9:24-27
