Coaches Corner: Bracken’s Lloyd Fields
Bracken starts facing teams that can put more meat on their plate. Marble
Falls Faith have proven to be a decent team the last two years.Last year the Flames ended their campaign with a 9-2 record and are presently, 5-3 with two games remaining.
When asked how motivating the team is going, Coach Lloyd Fields said, “They don’t need us (coaches) to motivate, the team motivates themselves.”
Sounds like a team that is working on a 22 game winning streak.
Bracken has faced and beaten teams that have a 36-28 record for this season.
The Defense has held their opponents, 267 points below their average this year. That averages out to 33.4 points per game.
“Marble Falls runs a lot of different formations, but the team will run the spread offense,” Coach Fields continued. “This will give us a good segue going into the OLH game next week.”
One of the major jobs for the Coaching staff is replacing an integral part of the offense with the loss of Arnold Adame in last week’s game.
“You don’t replace Adame,” Coach Fields said sternly. “Arnold (Adame) was a replacement and now it will take two people to replace him…Donald Loving will replace in the spread and Jordan McDaniel in the tight offense.”
The Warriors have played in seven Mercy games in a row and coach Fields was lamenting that he had not been able to give half time speeches to the team.
“I can’t have rousing halftime speeches,” Coach Fields said.
BCS has all the numbers telling them that this game will also be another mercy game.
“They don’t compare the scores,” Fields finished. “They just go and play the games.”
The mark of a team that wants to have a 23 game winning streak.
