CL Baseball Starts Season with Loss to Marble Falls, 9-5

hard fought loss, 9-5.

The Hawks are a very young team again this season and look to improve as the younger players get more innings under their belt.

The top of the batting order had an impressive on base percentage of .750 for the game which bodes well for having opportunities to score runs.

Daniel Camarillo carved out three hits while knocking in two runs as he continued his hot steak that started last year.

Travis Walker starts his third campaign for the Hawks with two hits and two RBIs against the Mustangs.

Michael Brady was also productive from the plate, walking two times with a hit.

The good news is in a simple truth of having that production coming from three juniors.

The game was still one run from a tie  going into the bottom of the fifth inning when errors finally had their final say for the outcome of this contest.

Junior Logan Felch took the loss as Canyon Lake now has little time to rest while preparing for the Lockhart Tournament starting Thursday and finishing Saturday.

It could be a special year watching a young team find their groove and surprising many opponents in the process.

Next home game is Tuesday, February 28th against Hays with the first pitch at 7pm.
