Softball: CL wins Two Games before Rain Cancels Marion Tourney

shortened Marion Tournament this past week.
When Canyon Lake took care of the three major areas in winning games.
Pitching:
Between Missy Romero, Briana Young, and Kelsey Ahrens the Hawks gave up only one run holding the two teams to just four hits.
Romero lowered her era to a miniscule 0.53, for those who might know the significance…the number stands for the number of runs given up in a regular seven inning game.
Using that criteria, Canyon Lake would only need one run to win games in which Romero is in the circle.
Romero also helped her cause by hitting two home runs one in each game. Those two home runs put her in the record book for Canyon Lake as she has one more than Katy Payne who graduated last season and Emma Broussard who had an inside the park home run two weeks ago.
Brianna Young was the pitcher in the second game and she had a good outing with four innings pitched and giving up no runs or hits.
Kelsey Ahrens finished the game pitching the last two innings of the contest.
Canyon Lake will take off for the Spring Break with a three practices as the team prepares for District 26-3A with a home game with Boerne Greyhounds.
March 20th will be the next chance to be in attendance as the Hawks try to repeat a season that had this young club place second in district last year.
