CL Hawks Baseball Hoping for Good Finish to Season

get back on the winning track next week, after losing to Fredericksburg, 7-2 last Friday night at the Hawk diamond.

“We are trying to get across to the team that these games we are working to make a run,” Head Coach Trent Dunavant said. “We have players playing out of position and we are needing to eliminate our errors and improve our mental game.”

You have heard the story before, but with one Senior on the team, Canyon Lake keeps learning on the fly and the remembrance of the second year of competition.

“We got to know we can’t quit,” Junior Logan Felch said. “We love the game and we have to keep playing it right and going to reward us.”

“I notice more experience and in the long run it is going to help us,” as Felch commented on the youth of this team.

Canyon Lake Varsity would be a Junior Varsity on other teams and that is what has to be hard on fans and Coaches alike.

Fredericksburg controlled the plate offensively and defensively.

Fourteen strikeouts were well placed as Canyon Lake kept getting players on base, but getting that timely hit was non existent.

CL has had good games, but sustaining a focus to finish is coming up about three to four innings for each game, leaving the end result as another learning moment.

Three runners reached by error, while another three batters were hit by the pitcher, but the end result was that timely hit with a broken watch.
