Hawk Boys Track has a Field Day at Tiger Relays

Canyon Lake came through with flying colors at last in Dripping Springs

Canyon Lake finished third in the meet as the outdistanced Lake Travis and Austin Westlake in the process.

The real kicker was brought in by the Relay team of Doug Hubnik, Daniel Camarillo, Eduardo Covarrubias and Zach Henshaw.

These four Hawks were in all three relays that set school records in each event.

The three Relays gave Canyon Lake 44 points which when compared to the larger schools at the meet will give you an idea of how this part of the team has progressed.

To take this meet to another level…the Hawks were also competing against nine other schools.

Jordan Anderson also pulled in his best time in the 200 and 400 Meter Dash with a sparkling 22.47 and 50.74 respectively placing first.

The Hawks had a good evening with many athletes that would of placed in a smaller school track meet but could not break in the top sixth with such a loaded field.

Field events were also a strong for Canyon Lake.

Jaaz McNair set a school and personal best in the Shot Put with a throw of 44’3.75”. The throw beat his previous best of three feet.

Marcus Bolles finished with another good Pole Vault of 13’ and finished third against a large field.

Anderson also garnered another eight points with a second place finish in the Long Jump. Anderson missed his season best  by 5 inches.

Peaking is the key and many of the Hawks are circling their prey as they prepare for the District 26-3A Meet being held next Tuesday and Wednesday at the Hawk’s Cinders.

Canyon Lake will also have a Tri-Meet this Thursday as they prepare and do some fine tuning.
