Track & Field Breakdown: Relays for 26-3A Girls
District 26-3A has started Tuesday and will be finishing up
tomorrow with the 4×400 Relay.
Canyon Lake is the team to beat for this event as they blistered the Track in their last run in Dripping Springs.
The ReSporter will end it’s report on the district events for the girls.
Fredericksburg has been the team to beat, but this might be the closest the other schools have been to the Billies in quite a while.
Relays are the next and last set of events to be diagnosed for this season.
The ReSporter hopes you have enjoyed these ‘Breakdowns’.
4×100 Meter Run:
The Wimberley team will be the school to beat for the first relay of the meet. There best time was right under 51 seconds, but the Texans hold a one second lead over Bandera and Fredericksburg.
Canyon Lake would need some bests from the runners on Wednesday.
Of all the relays, the 4×100 relay can have the most surprises, because a missed baton does not give that team enough time to make up the difference.
4×200 Meter Run:
This will be an exciting race between three schools that have broken the one minute fifty one second barrier.
Fredericksburg is being followed closely by Boerne and Wimberley.
Canyon Lake is residing with the fifth best time at this writing.
4×400 Meter Run:
Canyon Lake does have the best time for this race. The Hawks are almost four seconds better than Fredericksburg and both of these schools best time was at their last meet.
This event is much more spread out in times this season than the others.
There is a second to three seconds difference between all the schools as you look at Canyon Lake (the best time) to Wimberley (the worst time).
The Relay Point Totals:
Fredericksburg 48
Wimberley 34
Boerne 32
Canyon Lake Hawks 28

Final Point Totals for the 17 Events:
Fredericksburg 182
