Coming of Age for Bracken Christian Football

BCS will start another season in less than a month and a case can be made that this team can be a serious contender for another crown.
In the past three years the Warriors have finished in the final four and came home with the whole enchilada two years ago.
Now this seven year old program already has a reputation of winning.
Since the first year of salvaging just one win, Bracken Christian has not won less than nine games in the previous five years.
A winning percentage of .855 will do that for a team after you take away that first year of learning.
This campaign will be different as the Seniors from last season had a lot of skins on the wall and it will now depend on the up and comers to see what they learned while watching and playing along side the seasoned players.
“Size wise this will be the biggest six-man football team I have coached,” Head Coach Lloyd Fields said. “I have (Jordan) Rohlmeier with just eight days of practice, could not find the field and now he is going to be a player for us this year.”
Bracken Christian has had the last couple of years where they averaged scoring on the third play from scrimmage.
“This year we might have to punt the football,” Coach Fields quipped.
Last year the first punt for the Warriors was on the eleventh game of the season. Things seemed to come pretty easy and now a year later finds many questions needing to be answered.
Finding answers will define this team and give them their identity.
Special teams will be a part of the game that will need some answers.
Losing an all state punter and kicker for the past two years will put a cramp on things when you lose that player to graduation.
Having cramps for punters and kickers is not a good thing, but how BCS finds that next piece of the puzzle will go a long way into how this season might turn out.
“If they can run,” Coach Fields stated after a question on how size might affect a six man team on the gridiron.
You can have a large team in six man and if they can run, then it might be hard to deny another run to the final four for a team that is coming of age.
Seven year olds is a fun year.
