Sad Win for BCS in Beating Brenham, 60-12
Sad win for Bracken Christian as they grounded the Eagles scoring 52 points

in the first quarter last Saturday at the Warrior field for a 60-12 final.
Final, because Bracken’s Receiver Arnold Adame was carted out of the end zone after scoring a 34 yard catch and run. The tackle was at least five yards in the end zone and the unsuspecting tackle brought Adame to ground in pain.
The game was delayed as Adame was attended to. This young man lost most of the season last year with a leg injury and lightning struck again, bringing an end to this season for all intense and purposes.
The 58 points scored in the first quarter had been matched or beat only two other times in the last 75 games of Bracken football history. The Winston game had that same amount scored two years ago and also during that same year the BCS-OLH playoff game had 64 points scored.
BCS had one drive that consisted of four plays, one of the plays did not have a gain of yardage. Slipping would be a word to use for this drive. For this game, Bracken averaged 24 yards per play which could of been more as Brenham was only able to tackle a Warrior on four other plays total.
Another crazy stat for this game was in the time of possessions for Bracken.

Fullback Preston Koch started the game off with a 45 yard run for the first score. Koch would finish with 99 yards on his three carries.
“I don’t run around people,” Koch cooked up. “I go through them and it they want to hit me high, then I will just go first and hit them.”
When asked about the loss of Adame, Koch commented, “It’s tough…he was an all-state player and now the whole team will need to step up…the rest of the season we will play for Arnold.”
That play on Adame was sad as he caught the ball and ran 34 yards to pay dirt and started to let up as he got to the five yard line. Brenham’s player tackled Adame after passing the end zone as players tend to relax after scoring and that was the predicament in this case, hence this sad injury for Adame.
Great game of domination, but also a sad game for this team as an already thin team just got thinner with another player sidelined for the season.
Coach Lloyd Fields said responding to this injury after the game, about how you replace a player of this caliber, “You don’t replace him, you do the best you can with what you have left.”
What Bracken has left is seven more games for this regular season not counting playoffs.
Indeed this was a sad win, but hopefully time will heal these wounds also.
