CL got run over by a Greyhound, 24-26, 19-25, 16-25

Canyon Lake Volleyball got beat by a Greyhound last Tuesday night at the Hawk gym in three games-24-26, 19-25, and 16-25.

There has to be something done about how the UIL comes up with their district scheduling. It does not seem right that a team should have to endure a five game road schedule after playing their first two games at home.

This does not say the records would of been different, but having a team go five games before they get back home is wrong. The cards that were dealt this Hawk team was a stacked deck and should not have been done this way.

The Hawks did play a very competitive game to start this match, when they took Boerne to the brink, losing 24-26.

Once again a bounce here or there might have swayed that elusive momentum if Canyon Lake could of finished that game.

Canyon Lake was also enjoying a 7-3 lead in their second game, only to see Boerne rally and finish off the Hawks after another tough game.

The third game had Boerne with a seven point service that buried Canyon Lake’s bid for an upset try against another strong 27-3A team. Boerne has only four losses for the year and two of those losses have been to district opponents.

This Greyhound team is in third place giving you an idea of how tough this district has become.

Canyon Lake along with every other district team started play with a winning record this season. Pretty impressive resume that very few if any other district can match.

This Hawk team will be home against Bandera this Friday night, so come and support Volleyball before the football team takes on this same school on the gridiron.
