Boys and Girls Hawk Hoop Talk

Hoops Talk

Canyon Lake Girls will be playing their last game of this season tonight and there will be some sad times as four players will be playing their last contest.

Tammy Dean who has started a few games but more often than not, Tammy has come in to spell other guards and play some hustle defense.

Hannah St. John has been injured some this year, but also is one of those guards that has had some good offensive and defensive skills these past few seasons for the Hawks.

St. John is tied for fifth place in three point shots made with Amber West.

Kelsey Long has been an important post and wing player this season giving some important minutes on both sides of the court.

Lastly but really firstly will be Katie Williams last time to add to many of her records.

Katie Williams Numbers:
53 Assists which is sixth place all-time for the Hawks.
71 Blocks holding down first just six ahead of Amber Ramsey.
119 Free Throws made for fourth place on CL's list.
129 Steals just one steal behind Ramsey.
236 Williams has scored more points than Tiffany Tschoepe.
313 Field Goals 125 more than Tschoepe who resides in second place.
322 Points this season and will need 21 points to pass Tschoepe for second.
551 Rebounds, 28 behind leader Tiffany Tschoepe who holds down first place.
751 Total points scored in her career.

Canyon Lake is also leading District 27-3A in points allowed with 35 points per game this year. Holding Boerne in their last game to their season low in offensive output.

The Lady Hawks will be traveling to Navarro to play a Panther team that is playing for second place for their playoff seeding.

The Hawk Boy’s team has also been playing a much more disciplined game and broke out in their last game with some long range shooting skills.

Andrew Riali is just 22 three pointers away from taking the all time lead in that category as he trails Cole Green with 77 in his career.

Riali passed Matt Magness in his last game and all of this is happening in one season.

Paul Davis has also moved up to fifth place in three pointers just two shots from passing Stuart Lowry who finished his career with 31 from long range.

Senior Doug Hubnik is passing the assist record in record form as he stands with 172 for his two year career. His one year total of 136 is 35 more than all the other Hawk players combined and Hubnik has three more games to add to a record that might not be reached anytime soon.

Caleb Kreiger has also made his one year Varsity campaign as a year to remember.

Caleb Kreiger Numbers:
1 More Block than Turnovers this season.
11 Three pointers for third place this year.
20 Assists behind Paul Davis and Doug Hubnik in 2012-13.
56 Blocks in one year and already nine ahead of Neal Whitehead for first place.
 67 Offensive rebounds leads team.
68 Free throws made putting him fifth place 10 behind Doug Hubnik.
135 Defensive rebounds leads team.
146 Field Goals an all time record for a one year total.
202 Rebounds and needs only two more to pass Neal Whitehead who stands at 203.
371 Points scored leaving him in third place behind Stuart Lowry and Matt Magness.

Hawks will be taking the floor against Navarro on Tuesday night at home and hopefully Canyon Lake will be able to win their third game this season against these Panthers.
