This Week in Hawk Country, CL has a Playoff game at home against Boerne Champion who finished second in District 54-4A.

Canyon Lake Girls Soccer earned this right when they tied Wimberley in their regular season final last Friday night.

This game will be played this Tuesday at Hawk Stadium. Come out and support your Hawks.

Canyon Lake Junior Varsity Baseball team will be in Wimberley at 5pm for a double header on Monday.

The Hawks are a very solid program with a lot of depth and a short drive to see how the future looks for CL.  Results so far are good, as Canyon Lake would like to continue their hot streak after shutting out Bandera last week.

Fredericksburg will be in town for their second game against CL’s Varsity Baseball team. This Hawk team has lost their last three games by a total of three runs.

It won’t take much to get over this hill and when that happens, then this team could put it together for a nice run.

Remember that in District 27-3A Baseball, each team plays each other three times and that helps in evening the playing field. In many other districts each team will play each each school just twice and never two games in a row.

Baseball is a game that depth is crucial especially on the pitching mound and in year’s past a team could see their opponents ace for both games of their two game season. This is where a three game match up is more telling for their fans to know which team is the real deal.

The Hawks baseball team will return to Fredericksburg on Thursday to finish off this years series.

Softball started off on the wrong foot last week with losses to Fredericksburg and Bandera.

This week a trip to Wimberley will be in order as CL plays on Tuesday night with the Junior Varsity getting things kicked off first.

Canyon Lake will end their week on Thursday at Boerne for a 6pm start.

Another big event this week will be held by Canyon Lake on Thursday, as the Hawks will host eight other teams in their Relays.

Canyon Lake’s Track Team is heading around the corner and readying for their stretch run as District Meet is right around the bend.

The Girls Team is low on number of athletes but the ones that are competing are getting points as their last two meets have been against larger schools.

The Hawks Boy’s Team is also low on numbers this year and will need to be at their peak when this season gets ready to go in District play.

Many good athletes will be on display this Thursday and action starts at 3:30pm.

Golf had another good outing at their Tournament last week when they finished only two strokes out of first place in the 14 team field.

This team has had some injuries but they continue to put up some good scores and have a chance to go farther than they ever have this year.

They will Tee it up on Wednesday in Fredericksburg and test their skills against a team that won State last season in the Billies.

This is also Holy Week and no games will be played on Good Friday.
