District 27-3A Boy’s Relays and Dash Events

Canyon Lake will be hosting District 27-3A Track and Field this Wednesday and Thursday and The

Connor Ricker giving it his all in those Dash Events.

ReSporter will break down each school and event to help in letting fans know what are some don’t miss competition.

This is the second of a three part series and we will look at the Relays and Dash in this segment.

The Hawks will have some impressive matches and how this Track Team performs will be based on how Jordan Anderson will be used.

This is why they pay Head Track Coach Cody Means the big bucks as he will be in his office late figuring how to run his relays based on each athlete only having three running events that can be performed.

Short Distance (Relays, 100 Meter Dash, 200 Meter Dash, 400 Meter Dash)
 1. Canyon Lake 78
 2. Fredericksburg 74
 3. Navarro 45
 4. Wimberley 35
 4. Boerne 35
 6. Bandera 12

Canyon Lake has a chance of watching Anderson break that 11 second barrier in the 100 Meter Dash, which he certainly has done during his career. This will be a great farewell tour for CL Fans to watch one of their own score points and keep even with Fredericksburg.

Anderson has a best of 11.04 this year and leads Kyler Sultemeier by .02 of a second. Three of the top times in this event were performed early during track season.

That will give you an idea of how anything can happen for any of the teams players. This event is a must see and know that you only have 11 seconds tops to enjoy this pure speed event.

The 200 Meter Dash looks to be a carbon copy of the 100 Meter Dash. Fredericksburg just changed their number two performer.

This event has five of the six top runners all with their best run during the first two weeks of the track calendar.

Boerne’s Marerick Terry is the only runner to break into points and that meet was two weeks ago.

Anderson is the favorite again if he is tabbed to run and if not, then Conner Ricker has also performed

Christian Dittman will be one of several Hawks that will be trying to score some much needed points to scare The Billies

with the fifth best time this season and has a chance of getting some valuable points for the good guys.

The 400 Meter Run is one of the tougher events and coaches will sometimes save their best runners for the 4×400 Meter Relay which makes this a tough event to predict.

Anderson will surely make a run at this event for a chance to have that return date in Austin.

Navarro’s, Luke Jaroszewski, has almost a second lead over Anderson this season but once again all but one finish by district teams has been performed since the first of March.

Fredericksburg looks to be wanting to save their best for the 4×400 team as their best timed students are out of the points as of this writing.

Garhett Grundhi for Canyon Lake is also on the outside looking in, but a good showing on this event will be some welcome points for the Hawks as this could be a chance to have some uncontested points as the Billies might not challenge.

4×100 Meter Relay will be a race between CL and Fredericksburg as these are the only two district teams with times under 44 seconds.

Both times were performed early this season and Canyon Lake has had some sickness with Daniel Camarillo missing a couple of meets and he will be a good welcome back for his final Senior Year of going to Regions.
———————-
4×200 Meter Relay is also a Canyon Lake vs. Fredericksburg event as both schools are the only teams with times below 1:33.00 this season.

Wimberley is close right above 1:34.00 and then you have the rest of the field being over three seconds away from those top three spots and a chance to continue their season.

Daniel Camarillo handing off to Doug Hubnik

The 4×400 Meter Relay is one of the most exciting track runs and will be that last event of this two day extravaganza.

If Canyon Lake has some surprises, then this race also has a chance to give the Hawks a chance for a first or second finish place finish in Disrtict 27-3A.

What is interesting is how Navarro has also performed the best so far and presently has a three second best over Fredericksburg and Canyon Lake.

The Hawks did not get serious about this event until they ran at the Hawk Relays a couple of weeks ago, but you saw some much needed fire from some of those Seniors which could serve your hometown favorites well.

Navarro will certainly have Jaroszewski as their anchor leg, but you can’t discount Doug Hubnik and Daniel Camarillo as they look to go to the Regions for their third consecutive season.

What a way to create a lasting legacy.

Tomorrow The ReSporter will concentrate on the Long Distance and Hurdle events….stay tuned.
