Volleyball Coaches Corner: Kim Paisley
The ReSporter: The San Marcos Tournament was your last tourney…how do you see
what needs to be worked on as you go these last few weeks before the start of district play?
Coach Paisley: “The San Marcos tournament was excellent, especially for the last tournament. We definitely played stronger teams. We also have had the chance to watch some film and see ourselves in action. We are focusing on certain areas of our game and fixing it up.”
The ReSporter: The ReSporter noticed on the stat line that Regan Mickey seems to be getting more involved, is she above the curve or about where you thought she would be at this time?
Coach Paisley: “Regan is doing an excellent job. She is still young, but she is getting more and more comfortable. Needs to be more vocal still….She will get there though.”
The ReSporter: Have you found your rotation yet?
Coach Paisley: “I have not found a definite rotation yet. About three to four kids have said this is my spot and they are not giving it up. The other spots are up for the taking. Someone needs to say it belongs to them and prove that it belongs to them.”
The ReSporter: What does this team need to accomplish or master to be able to compete at a higher level when district starts?
Coach Paisley: “We have been working on our offense and speeding it up for game temp. We cannot afford to run high/slow offensive sets in our district. We Must speed it up. That will help us catch our opponents defense out of transition.”
The ReSporter: Thanks Coach good luck tonight and also in preparing for your district run in a couple of weeks.
