Bracken will be entering this game with a four game winning streak but Boerne Geneva will be one up on that with a five game winning streak.
You know the old adage that anything you can do we can do better.
So far since Geneva has moved up into Bracken’s district and division, the Geneva School has made a point of being that one point (or 2 points in last year’s game) better in accomplishments.
In the Coaches Corner you can read about many of the players that will be in attendance this Friday at the Warrior stadium.
Geneva is presently ranked 3rd in the State and have certainly proved that record with the games they have played thus far.
The Eagles opponents have an overall record of 17-12 and don’t forget that five of those losses were administered by Geneva.
So those five teams have 17 victories and the game for comparison purposes is that Houston Emery-Weiner game.
Geneva won that game by 46 points and BCS had their hands full with E-W right up to the final horn.
Bracken Christian will certainly have their hands full this Friday night with the Eagles. Geneva is only allowing 19 points per contest and that is a good number especially when you understand that 6-man football is a scoring league.
BCS has a 25 point average defensively but you can also make a case that the competition has not been at the same level as Boerne Geneva’s games.
Bracken had that one game with Austin Hill Country when they allowed 61 points being scored and having improvement against teams with that offensive set will have to be realized for the Warriors to have a decent chance of containing the Eagles.
Stops by the defense will be at a premium and in last year’s game, this affair might be decided by that turnover bug that can be seen every time you look up into those bright lights.
There will be one other district game that will have a chance of shaping this district and Kerrville OLH has a chance of making noise with players coming back from injury for that club.
So this is a game you will want to get there early…Boerne is a short drive and a packed house will certainly give this a Friday Night Lights adventure.
Good luck to both teams.
