For all intense and purposes Bracken Christian will be playing the last team of the regular season that will be a good challenge as the Warriors start preparation for their second season called the playoffs.
OLH’s record is deceiving based on their amount of injuries this year. The Hawks have had as many as three starters out since their game with Castle Hills.
In the Coaches Corner article, Coach Fields mentioned that two thirds of those players will be back for this game.
In Six-Man football, having that many players out will play havoc for that chemistry needed for games as well as practices.
There is only one game that both of these schools have played this season.
In those games, Austin Hill Country made their presence known by winning with 45 points over OLH and surprising the Warriors starting off this season.
SA Castle Hills was a scrimmage opponent for BCS and that contest, Castle Hills won their quarter of competition over Bracken and so that OLH game with earlier this season will give you an idea of what the Hawks have when most of their starters are present.
Playing on the road might also be an equalizer.
Recap:
OLH needs this game to guarantee a playoff spot. A loss will spell their doom.
OLH has had up to three starters out for most of this season.
OLH will have two of those players back for this game.
OLH played Castle Hills even when at full strength. Castle Hills out played BCS in their scrimmage.
OLH and BCS were both beaten by Austin Hill Country.
OLH will be playing at home.
OLH and Bracken are rivals and that will also get those juices going for these schools.
That should let you know what might be in store when that kick-off starts action this Friday.
Bracken responded well after their defeat at the hands of Boerne Geneva two weeks ago. The win over CASA was a walk in the park
The Warriors will also have two players returning to this game with Coy Zunker and Gunnar Stolhandske which helps with that most important aspect of 6-man…..depth.
BCS will see where they will stack up as playoff season comes beckoning in a few weeks.
Improving their spread offense will continue to be an objective for Coach Fields while hoping players can play injury free.
Should be a fun game to take in for the Road Warriors.
