Volleyball Hawks Lose to Boerne in Four Games
Hawks shocked Boerne in their first game, 25-18, but could not hold their momentum as Boerne won the next three games to win this match, 3-1.
Canyon Lake came out on fire as they shot themselves out of a cannon with a 9-1 lead that was stretched to a 21-10 advantage as the Hawks coasted for that first win.
The Hawks have been on the short end of matches for the last two years and their demeanor has been weak as games have been played in the recent past.
But this team has something special and there will be a game that will shock this district and this series with Boerne.
“We were not beat when Boerne got off the bus,” Head Coach Kim Paisley said in response to how CL has played in their recent past in district play.”
“We tried to mix it up and try to catch their defense off in their game,” Paisley closed. “Eye for an eye, we will get them again.”
Boerne regrouped and CL could not close the gap as the Greyhounds kept their 4-6 point lead throughout this contest.
The Hawks were a no-show in the third game as Boerne had a 12 point serve which buried Canyon Lake, 25-6.
“Game three has been our weakest game of a match this season,” Coach Paisley said. “But this game three was our worst of this year.”
Canyon Lake would show some of their first game fire in the fourth game, but could not close it out when they had a 24-23 and 25-24 serve that would of put this game in a sudden death match to 15.
The Hawks have now played against two teams ranked in the top 20 and seem to close to climbing the rest of that mountain.
Next game will be this coming Tuesday in Wimberley and this upstart team needs as many fans to make this short trip and see how they stack up to the Texans.
