Canyon Lake Boys will be at Home for their last game of the season with Bandera this Tuesday night
This Week at Canyon Lake
Last week was a ‘Lost in Weather’ week as many games were not played or the dates changed because of those nasty elements.
The Girls Basketball team did finish their season last Tuesday and next year should have a team starting to make a little more noise as this year’s team was full of underclassman and to top that off, the Junior Varsity girls finished with several wins to end the season.
Boys Basketball will be having their final game at home with Bandera on Tuesday as they too will put those sneakers away for another year.
This year’s team was disappointing as they finished with goose eggs in the district win column, but hopefully this will be another good story next year with many returning players and another year under their belt.
Softball season will start in earnest as Coach John Gallagher will assemble a team with lot’s of youth, but with that youth will come a team that has a legitimate shot for the playoffs this time around.
This time next week, we will be able to have a handle on how this season might shape up.
Track and Field is right around the corner with a meet on February 22nd and this time the Hawks will be welcoming a new Head Coach for the Boys and Girls with Coach Troy Moses (boys) and Coach John Barthels (girls).
Soccer was another sport that is not much fun in the cold weather, but the girls played a tough New Braunfels Canyon team and will be wanting to rebound this week and get back on the winning track.
The Girls and Boys team will be starting District play this week against Schertz Clemens.
The Boy’s Soccer team has had more success already this season and this past week a tie with Fredericksburg tells you this team might break the no playoff headline this year.
Hawk Soccer already has two victories and will be looking for more as this season matures.
Baseball had two scrimmages last week and will be adding a few more players when basketball ends Tuesday.
Another week of scrimmages before this year starts with a vengeance.
