This Week at Canyon Lake
Canyon Lake will be ‘on the road again’ this week as all sporting venues will be out of town except for our Boy’s Soccer
Hawk’s Golf is seeing Birdies this year with some medalist returning after winning two tournaments last year.

This is opening week for several sports as weather has played a major roll with Tennis and other competitive events.
JV Baseball will be opening their curtain in Marble Falls and then the Varsity have a return trip to Marble Falls for a three day tournament all this week.
Canyon Lake’s Baseball Team has finally grown up and this act will be something to hold your hat on as the Hawks will be shooting for more than just finishing the schedule this year.
Both Boy’s and Girl’s Soccer were handed a loss to Schertz Clemens last week by the same score, 4-0. That is not surprising, as Soccer has to play teams that are two classes in size larger each year.
Soccer will have Wimberley in the mix but a lineup of 4A and 5A schools makes it hard for these teams to get a hold on their competition.
This week Seguin is on the menu for Tuesday and this will be a must win for both Soccer clubs in order for them to realize a chance of making the playoffs this season.
Boy’s Golf had a solid team last year that had won some tournaments and then the injury bug hit this squad and at the end did not realize their goal.
Most of those boys are returning and this will be a interesting year to see what type of ‘cuff links’ this club will be wearing. Both Boys and Girls start in Llano for the girls and Navarro for the boys team.
Tennis is also debuting this week in Navarro and The ReSporter hopes to have more news of what will be happening for this sport, also.
How about Track and Field….Canyon Lake will be in Bastrop to start this year’s season on Saturday and we will have more on this development next week.
Softball was a success as this group of girls finished with a 4-2 record and could of easily been 5-1 if not for a collapse after enjoying an 11-1 lead and losing 13-12 to Pflugerville Connaly.
This is a fun team to watch and when they return home on February 25th, then go out and watch the fireworks. (several articles on this club already on The ReSporter)
