Three Hawks are Honored in District Play
Tell Them Congrats
Senior Andrew Riali was awarded First Team 27-3A All District for his
basketball play this past season for Canyon Lake.
Senior Isaac Mendez also was awarded Second Team, while Senior Tyler Clark garnered Honorable Mention on this year’s awards for district play.
Canyon Lake had three players that certainly made their mark for all time players for the Hawks with this announcement.
Riali name is found on top of the heap in points (594), three point shots made (122), and total rebounds finishing with 296.
Riali’s (113) also finished second in made free throws trailing only Matt Magness who is still on top with 120 for his career.
Riali’s outside game was prolific as he finished with 45 more three pointers made when he passed Cole Green earlier this season that finished his play at CL
with 77.
The bar has also been raised for total points scored by 39 points, as Riali passed Magness in that department this season.
Isaac Mendez was hurt for his Junior campaign on the hardwood but his tenacity showed during his senior year as this player epitomized how working hard can pay dividends for a team.
Mendez finished with 46 steals for his senior season which attests to his hard nose defense and a tribute for his untiring play.
Mendez was a slasher on offense as he could help bring the ball up the court as well as make you pay if you fell asleep guarding as cutting to the hoop was a strong point in his play.
Tyler Clark was another Hawk player that had ever ready batteries as this young player was all over the court making things difficult for whoever he was going to guard.
Clark finished his career with 49 steals and stands in eighth place all time in that statistic.
Clark could also make you pay offensively when he was on from the outside.
A well deserved honor for these three athletes and they deserve a Congrats from the Hawk Nation.
Congratulations
