Hawks Finish with 2-2 record on First Day of Tourney
Canyon Lake finished their first day of games with a 1-2 record in the San Marcos

Tournament.
The four team pod with CL will go into a Gold, Silver, Bronze and based on the first day record, the Hawks will ascertain a third place finish after suffering two losses to Corpus Christi King and Weimer.
The Hawks did start their day on a good note when they jumped into a strong first inning with Houston St. Agnes winning 7-2.
This tournament’s games had a time limit of 50 minutes and going more than three innings would be a stretch.
Canyon Lake only had two innings of offense with St. Agnes after scoring seven runs in that first inning.
Adding in those next two games, Canyon Lake, was bitten by that nasty error bug resulting in giving up many runs without hits.
“We have to get back mentally where we had been earlier this season,” Head Coach John Gallagher surmised after a six error game with Corpus Christi.
The Hawks are still a very young club and are using this week’s of games to tighten up their belt and prepare for District 27-3A games next week.
Carly DuBois had two hits in that first inning of the Hawks first game, driving in two runs in the process.
All but one Hawk reached base with their limited at bats which also helped supply that decisive first inning.
