Senior Running Back Noah Boriack had a busy night in Temple

business in beating the Temple Holy Trinity Celtics in Temple last Friday night, 45-18.

“Emotionally we played well but we still had too many mistakes,” Head Coach Lloyd Fields fielded. “I had to keep reminding myself that we were playing three freshman on offense, but we will improve the most this week between our first and second games.

Thomas Johnson, one of those freshman, started at center and contributed with two catches for 29 yards.

“I started pulling the ball down for my runs and start taking off,” Senior Noah Boriack said. “But they (Celtics) would leave him wide open and he just did his job.”

Boriack was also responsible for the first six tackles on defense and then decided to play some offense just to get a good work out.

“He was bushed after the game,” Head Coach Lloyd Fields said. “We are going to need to find some ways to get him some rest.”

Boriack finished with 15 tackles to go along with his 190 yards of rushing and passing for 70 yards, oh yeah, Boriack also returned a kick-off for a TD to top it off.

“Defense gets me more excited and offense gets me more exhausted,” Boriack said.

“What is there to say,” Coach Fields said. “If Noah can stay well then the sky is the limit on what he can do.”

This young man was a highlight reel as Bracken tries to continue their excellence on the gridiron.

“This game was a lot of fun,” Boriack started. “They (Holy Trinity) ran a tight offense and we stacked the line and they did not have enough blockers to get all of us….we wanted to be more aggressive instead of passive.”

Coy Zunker also reached double figures in tackles (12) and the Warriors showed that they can play pretty efficiently when shorthanded with players.

The Celtics only averaged two yards per rush and Zunker also helped (12 tackles) in the backfield as he had three PBU’s (Pass Break Ups) for this game.

Zunker is certainly an emotional player on the field, as you might be glad he is not miked up, “He is never quiet, Boriack stated, “But he can back up his talk.”

The Celtics had just scored to get within six points and putting some lumber on their stack of momentum wood, when Boriack answered their score with a 71 yard kick-off return.

“They kicked the ball deep and to an angle which cut the field in half,” Boriack said. “I was able to catch the ball in full speed and after two good blocks, I was able to split them for my run.”

What Holy Temple had in momentum was quickly doused with water, “I could see it in their eyes,” Boriack exclaimed while answering the question of what he noticed after that touchdown was scored.

Holy Temple could have fielded more than one team as BCS was lucky to have Zack Fasenmeyer return after missing some practices and the second scrimmage.

There were still some mistakes that will need to be rectified as it was not a total, nothing went wrong, type of night as Boriack also threw three interceptions.

“Yeah, I made some bad decisions and there is some stuff we need to work on with our tight offense and my decision making,” Boriack said humbly.

Brady Beene was #1 on this night as he was one for one in passing for one yard that turned out to be his first touchdown throw on a slant route to Christian DeLeon. That catch also had a lot of ones for this freshman receiver, his first catch, first TD, and for that same one yard.

“(Jeff) Camp and (QB) Beene played well and our two corners (Beene and DeLeon) played well too,” Fields closed. “We will go to practice Tuesday and get better.”

BCS is now 5-3 on their opening night games and presently 6-1 for their second games, Bracken’s only second game loss was on their first year of competition, and now CASA will be coming next.
