=====================================================
Canyon Lake is doing what needs to be done so far as District 26-4A started in earnest this past week.

With the Hawks two wins last week, they find themselves with a chance of tying Wimberley in district as the Texans will only be playing one district game this week.

Cuero has had a tough start as the Gobblers still have the best overall record, but their schedule drew two of the District 26-4A  powerhouse volleyball teams.

The game with Cuero and La Vernia on Tuesday will give a good indication of where this Gobbler team will stand as this season progresses.

A marque game this week will be at the Hawk gym this Tuesday night as Navarro will be coming to the hill country to try and get back an earlier loss to Canyon Lake at the Tex-Fest Tournament in that first week of action in August.

CL only needed two wins that day, since that outing was during a tournament and those two wins were accomplished in a sweeping form, 25-18 and 25-23.

Bailey Drum led CL with 9 kills in the game while Regan Mickey had 18 assists and Hayley Melone accounted for 13 digs.

This will be a barn burner and a huge Canyon Lake crowd would be imperative to show support for this years Volleyball crew.

Canyon Lake will be in the spotlight next Tuesday at home when Wimberley comes to town and if the Hawks can take care of business, this game could be for first place during this first round of games.

Good Luck this week and Go Hawks!!
