You can deduce that this game with LaVega will be another one of those running games.
The Pirates do pass more than Canyon Lake and for the most part have one receiver that will get most of those looks from their quarterback.
Think back to last week when Boerne, passed a ton but most of those passes were directed to one receiver.
Jamal Williams looks to be a runner from the pocket as he is very successful when he can’t find his receiver.
Another item to take note is how the Pirates were able to pull off their game with Lampasas which is the only team that both schools played this season.
CL had a hard time during this part of their season and it was on a two game turnover steak that the Hawks were suffering at that time.
No, that does not mean the turnover bug can’t strike again, but if you look at Canyon Lake’s turnovers since the Lampasas game and you will see a vastly improved team in that area.
Canyon Lake has only committed two turnovers in those five games while forcing nine from their opponents, so that trend seems to be in the Hawks favor.
LaVega is a scoring machine as they are averaging right at 37 points a game in district play while, your Hawks are coming in with a 33 point average for their district contests.
The skinny is that this will just be a shoot out again this week and the team with the least amount of mistakes would have a great chance of going to another round for the playoffs.
Canyon Lake will need to concentrate on all of those little things to win this game as you left last week’s game with Boerne, you could come up with those little things in your mind of what happened and come up with another loss.
The Hawks tripled the amount of time with the ball last week and were still on the short end of that final score.
CL won the turnover battle and still lost the game.
Total yards were on the Hawks side and it was still counted as a loss.
Canyon Lake needs to win one of these games and they must have a lot of those games in their bank because that has yet to happen this year with a win that has come with a score of seven points or less.
Another way this game can become a chance for another week of practices would be a blowout and The ReSporter likes that way of winning much more.
Go Hawks and Blow the Pirates off their ship!
