CL Hawks Still Finding way on Court in Loss to Somerset
Canyon Lake will be having a ‘get to know you’ party soon as their season is getting going with many players just now arriving for play time.
That issue played a big part in their loss to Somerset last Tuesday night.
“It will take us a while to get everyone in sync,” Head Coach Lucas Chapman said. “The issue right now is we are going to play a lot of games without much practice time, so that will affect us even more. We don’t really have a whole lot of stuff in place on the offensive end.”
Some players have just arrived from playing football and others have returned from being injured and the result is having a team in their first week or two to three weeks behind other teams.
Nic Adams was the only Hawk to make double figures in scoring finishing with 10 against this Bulldog team.
Senior Tommy Clark, who missed basketball due to an injury brought a lot of energy to the court by corralling 11 rebounds for Canyon Lake.
Another newbie is Will Clark who was pulled up from the Junior Varsity this week as he finished with 8 points and a respectable 6 rebounds.
Canyon Lake certainly has the bodies for having a decent year but we will know more after their party as they get to know each other in another venue.
The Hawks will be active this weekend in Marion to compete in their tournament.
