Using La Vernia as a punching bag, The ReSporter can get a good hold on some of the girls soccer teams based on playing this year Girls Soccer team.

Canyon Lake scored an 8-0 victory over this first year school last week and La Vernia has been an opponent to many of CL’s other District 28-4A teams.

In the recently completed Kerrville Tournament last week, Wimberley beat La Vernia, 7-2 and with a Texan 6-1 record another common opponent will be playing Smithville who the Hawks will be playing on this Tuesday.

More games from that same tournament, Bandera tied La Vernia, 1-1and Fredericksburg beat the Bears from La Vernia, 4-0.

The District 28-4A will start play on Friday as Canyon Lake will have a bye and start their games next Tuesday.

There are five teams in the Hawk’s district and all of the teams share the same district as football had this year.

In the past, Soccer has put teams in district with larger schools and thus giving schools like Canyon Lake at a disadvantage as those larger schools would many times have their way with the smaller school teams.

The Hawk Boy’s team will start their district the same as the girls teams and this year you can see how all the records up to this point are much the same.

Canyon Lake has a chance in having their best year of competing for a playoff spot.

Go Hawks!!
