========================================================
Canyon Lake sports are now getting busier as spring sports start to warm up.
Two sports are still playing their district schedules as the Lady Hawk Basketball team will be playing their last game of the season this Tuesday at home against La Vernia.
If CL can pull off a win, then the season will continue with another game this week and you can access that development by visiting The ReSporter for those updates.
There are some Seniors that will be finishing their careers this week and that alone would give Hawk fans a reason to visit the Hawk Nest and yell for this year’s team.
In fact, with a chance to continue for more games it gives the public another reason to visit the game with La Vernia.
Canyon Lake’s Boys Basketball team will have just two games left as they have been eliminated from district play and their last two games will be at home with La Vernia this Tuesday and Yoakum a week later also at home.
Soccer started their district play last week and the Girls team broke even with a 1-1 record and CL Boy’s team scratched out a tie for a first week total of 0-1-1 record.
Boerne’s Soccer team is the real deal as they swept Canyon Lake last Tuesday as there will be four of the five teams from District 28-4A that will qualify for playoffs.
Canyon Lake Boys team played Boerne to the best score of district teams which can be a good sign for this year’s team that has company with the Boys Basketball team as both teams are trying to make their first chance to play post season games.
This would be a good year to visit Hawk Stadium to see some good soccer as each Hawk team is having success and two scorers, Senior Christy Fowler and Junior Mike Thorpe have both topped previous bests for Canyon Lake in soccer history for scoring.
Softball started their scrimmage season last Saturday and will continue another week of home games with Luling and Fredericksburg until regular season starts the next week.
Baseball will start their scrimmages this week as they will scrimmage Llano and Boerne with the Junior Varsity playing at home against the Greyhounds.
Go Girls Basketball and the rest of Canyon Lake athletes as they represent our community!!
