=====================================================
Canyon Lake will not games being played at home this week and road trips will be your only way of seeing any game action.
With that being said, the Girls Soccer team will be playing their second round in the playoffs when they face Liberty Hill Panthers.
Canyon Lake drew a bye for their first round and will now take action this Thursday at Hawk Stadium at 6pm. . Liberty Hill beat Taylor in their first match to reach this round against your Hawks.
The Hawks played Liberty Hill earlier this year in the Marble Falls Tournament and were on the short end of the score, losing 3-0. But that is why they play the games as now Canyon Lake has an opportunity to make a statement game.
Last year many people thought CL would not stand a chance in their first playoff game with Boerne Champion and took that 5A school to the brink, losing a heartbreaker.
Talking about heartbreakers, Softball, had a 1-1 week with an extra inning win over Wimberley and then a blowout loss at the hands (and bats) of La Vernia.
This game became the proverbial snow ball going down hill and becoming an avalanche as the 5th inning got worse and worse as each batter came to the plate.
When everything was said and done, Canyon Lake was going home early after being run ruled by the Bears, 10-0.
What made this game even more confusing, was having both opposing pitchers having a no hitter being pitched before the carnage finished off your Hawks.
Baseball has also fallen on some tough times but their might be a ray of hope as Canyon Lake was able to score 9 runs in their game with Hyde Park on Saturday, which hopefully will instill some confidence in run production.
Both the Baseball and Softball teams will be off this Tuesday and then start on the road in Yoakum this Thursday.
With this being Easter week the schedule is moved with Good Friday and school having some off days.
Track & Field will be in Wimberley again this wee on Wednesday as last week’s meet had some athletes performing at theTexas Relays.
District 26-4A Meet will be during the middle of April so many of these athletes will be hoping to peak as that meet approaches.
Also, many of the Soccer players and other students will be coming on to get their timing and conditioning in order to help out this year’s team.
Have a great Easter Week and The ReSporter looks forward to seeing you at a Hawk game.
Go Hawks!!
