Canyon Lake had a quiet week as all but one football team was idle and Volleyball had a full slate of games.

All three were in the winners circle as Canyon Lake jumped a huge hurdle with their game with Wimberley as 6 years of nothing but brooms were swept away as the Hawks gave one of those brooms back to the Texans with a reciprocation of those previous contests.

Every varsity game with these two teams have still been sweeps and this time it was CL leaving the Texan’s gym with a statement victory.

The Hawks then finished that Tuesday game with another sweep of La Vernia on Friday and completed the first round of district games without a loss.

This Friday, Canyon Lake will start their second go around with Yoakum at home before the football game with Liberty Hill.

The JV Volleyball team lost their first district game with La Vernia and will try to right that ship and start another wining streak against the Bulldogs.

CL’s Freshman Volleyball club has an 0-2 week but still have a winning record in district play (4-2).

The Hawk’s Freshman Football team are undefeated this year as they traveled to Austin to take on Lanier Vikings and a decent, 41-8 score was the result.

If you have not had a chance to see this team play, then every Hawk fan should be in the stands this Thursday as a game between Titans will commence as Canyon Lake will go full steam ahead against the LH Panthers.

The Hawks will have their hands full this week as LH will bring a lot of talent to the field and a mistake free night will need to be present.

Liberty Hill will be a one trick pony and with a Hawk team that practices against that same offense daily might help.

But, those same comments will also come into play for CL’s offense playing a defense with the same advantage.

Should be a good week and The ReSporter says: Go Hawks!!
