 =====================================================

If The ReSporter said there was a lot planned for this week then you would have to say that is a true statement as the only schedule not known in Golf and that would be another sport to tack to the busy group of competition for this week.

This Monday Canyon Lake’s Baseball teams will start their season as the JV will host Llano while the Varsity will take to the road for that same team in Llano.

To say this will be a roller-coaster ride for the hard ball teams would be an understatement as Canyon Lake lost a ton of players from last season and now will actually start over with a senior being a rare breed and many other players playing for the first time or just needing time to get their bat legs in some game action.

The Baseball JV play their games on Monday while the Varsity will travel to the Marble Falls tournament for more games later this week.

On Tuesday, Canyon Lake Boys Basketball will be doing something never done before and that is suit up for a Bi-District game with Taylor. The game will be played at 6:30pm at Cedar Creek High School in Bastrop.

Yes, the Hawks are a 4th seed and Taylor will be a tough opponent but Canyon Lake has proven this year that they do have a chance of pulling off an upset.

Things will need to go well as in making Free Throws (Lord, we can only hope) and some good defense while keeping those turnovers to a minimum.

Not asking for much but those items and more can happen and that is why they play the games.

Soccer district season started last week and this week both teams will be playing Bandera on Tuesday and Fredericksburg on Friday.

The Boys team did lose their first game with Boerne but having a 2-0 loss would certainly give a hint that this could be the year for this team to take things into their own hands and pull off some games to repeat what the Boys Basketball team is doing this week with extra games.

Track and Field started off with some good times and it will be fun to see these athletes continue to reach heights in time for district.

Dripping Springs is not that far to go and cheer for these two teams that have high aspirations.

Softball will have another full week as they Host their Tourney with Wimberley and will have 5 games at home and this group of girls will need to reduce those rascally errors and learn how to hold a lead.

Those two items dogged the Softball team last week as they broke even at the Navarro tournament with a 3-3 record.

Some good hitting and a wealth of arms in the circle might give this team a chance to also finish strong this season.

So focus this week and highlight this Tuesday with a lot of fans making the short trip to Bastrop and see how well our Boys can do for a first ever playoff game.

Congrats and Go Hawks!!
