=========================================
Another busy week for Canyon Lake sports as CL’s Basketball team could not pull off an upset to keep their season going.
Still had a good year for both the girls and boys for round ball and a first for both teams to be playing in the post-season on the same year.
Softball would be another sport for Hawk fans to find some time to go see a game. Canyon Lake finished 2nd in last week’s Wimberley/Hawk Tournament.
Canyon Lake will continue their non-stop action as they will travel to Fredericksburg with both the JV and Varsity on Tuesday and then another tournament in Blanco/Johnson City on Thursday and Saturday.
The Hawks have an 8-3-1 record and will look to add to that win total this week.
Baseball started off with some rough spots as Canyon Lake lost a ton of players from last year leaving a lot of new faces on the diamond.
This will give the Hawk fans to see what sports were like back during the starting years when CL had no seniors but did have some spunk and realism to their game.
Canyon Lake Baseball team will have plenty of games at home this week as they will welcome Johnson City on Tuesday before starting the Comal Tournament on Thursday.
A good time to come out and support this young group of students as you can see on the above schedule the times your Hawks will be in action. So don’t be missing in action this week.
Soccer will only have games on Tuesday as Friday will be their bye date.
Both the Boys and Girls will be taking on Wimberley with the boys game at home and girls playing across the Devil’s Backbone. This is the last game for the first round of district contests and the Hawks will need to get on the right side of the win column and no better time as the Texan’s will bring the best out of the Hawks.
Track & Field will get going on a Thursday this week as your Hawks will run the cinders in Navarro’s Panther Relays.
Last week the Hawks had another Meet against much larger schools but many of those athletes improved on their times and distances as The ReSporter will look to have the first District 26-4A Bests coming out later this week.
Still waiting for a couple of schools to report their meets so all the schools can be represented. This will give the Hawk fans a chance to see how we stack up against the district which is always fun to see.
Golf and Tennis will also be in action this week to complete the sports-go-round that is always prevalent during this time of year.
Canyon Lake continues to add plenty of young athletes that compete at a high level and what a good time to get off your chair and go see how well this community is represented.
Go Hawks!!
