=======================================================================
The Hawks had a busy week and now sporting events start to tail off as Baseball has a few more weeks as the Softball team has just one more home game this Friday.
Track & Field qualified several athletes and both varsity teams finished 4th in District last week.
Many of the students had personal bests and the Junior Varsity Boys finished with a championship which now becomes the second year for that team to pull off that milestone.
A very deep boys team as there were several points not on the cinders due to being moved up to Varsity or injury.
This Sport’s future is certainly bright as these athletes prepare for next season while still having many still in the running (pardon the pun) for getting to Region Meet later this month.
Both Girls and Boys Relay teams qualified in all three and seeing how this group performs in two weeks will be fun to watch.
High Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put, and other races will give several Hawks a chance for more records and a lasting sport competition as this school year starts the last lap.
Baseball and Softball are in the spoiler role at this writing as this has not been a banner year for these two sports.
Canyon Lake will welcome Wimberley at the Hawk Nest this Friday and still desire your attendance for encouragement and support.
CL’s JV Baseball team is a fun group to watch as you will never know how an inning might end or if that inning might never end.
Last week, the Hawk’s JV Boys did that same trick against La Vernia as the game ended with Canyon Lake still batting with a lead and time being the culprit in stoppage.
A game earlier this season both teams scored over 20 runs so you never know what will happen.
Canyon Lake’s, Alexis Robinson, Kirsten Jones, and Tiare Kacir enter their last home game against the Texans for the Softball team.
All three girls played from Freshman to Seniors and Kirsten Jones is ending with some lofty numbers while Alexis Robinson will leave this Hawk team with several records batting while passing Missy Romero a few games ago with the most strikeouts.
Don’t be a stranger and come out next Monday for Baseball JV and Friday for games with Wimberley and as always….Go Hawks!!
