BCS has ‘Back to the Future’ Experience in Win, 40-0

Bracken Christian clamped down on the Crusaders with their 6th win in a row, 40-0.
“I think we played pretty good looking at what we were up against,” Head Coach Hosea Stredic stated. “The officials kept the clock running the entire game and made some calls against us that I still cannot find on the game tape.”
This game was out of character for BCS as they doubled the number of infractions and yardage in this contest compared to what had been accumulated through this season.
SA Atonement did not have any offensive answers in matching the Bracken Warriors Defense after holding the home team with just 16 total yards and one first down.
The 6 yards of rushing and 10 yards of passing are both records for games that did not end by the ‘Mercy’ rule and having the game go to the final horn.

That one spark of positive yards and a first down happened on the Crusaders opening drive to start the 2nd Half and soon afterwards, Reese Smith would intercept a pass for a pick-6 and score from 20 yards out.
“Our defense played pretty well for the most part,” Coach Stredic said. “We are still not where I want us to be and I think we still have some loose ends that has to be fixed.”
Bracken had a balanced running attack with Presley Day (95), Brady Beene (92 yards), and Lucas McCrum (87) each having a decent day and continued to pound the ball and game in the Warriors favor.
BCS opened the game with a 5 play drive for a score when Beene found Day for a catch and run from 21 yards out and a lead that would not be answered.
Paul Nakalanga had just one miss on the day but was helped out with a Warrior safety on a high snap that sailed through the end-zone.
A 32 point offense paired with an 8 point defense help combine for the shut out and win that will have the Warriors being 6-0 for the year.

“Offensively, I believe we did most of what we wanted by controlling the clock,” Coach Stredic finished.
For games that went the distance, giving up 16 total yards does speak volumes as the Crusaders had 14 of their 16 yards on that first half giving you an idea of how well this unit played as the game continued.
The Atonement team’s 11 plays in the 2nd Half accounted for just 2 yards and a chance to see how hard it would take having a chance for a score.
Bracken continued to pound the Crusaders with a tight offense and that played right into the Warriors hand as this game would end with a BCS team that had to overcome 110 yards of infractions and a running clock to boot.
The boot from kicker Nakalanka continues to impress as this young man had a return called back that would eventually have a Warrior score later on the drive.

Back to the Future was evident as the Warriors look to see what they will need to change so their future continues to rack up victories.
This next Friday, Bracken will have a game with The Winston at home as the Warriors have matched last year’s win total. BCS scholars can go back to the 2011 season for the last time they were 6-0 to start the season.
Now that is Back to the Future, as this year’s team will look to have that same type of success!
