All the Hawk’s Fall Sports have come to an end as the Football team bowed out of the playoffs with a hard fought loss to Liberty Hill last Friday night.
Still a young team and this team certainly looks to have a bright future as these athletes will now ready themselves for next August with a chance to rectify some unfinished business that was just out of reach as this season came to a close.
One of the best offensive teams yardage wise and only losing one starting back will give a chance for several other students to make their introduction for a chance of getting noticed for another winning campaign.
This was not a big Senior Class, but what this group of young man did on the field will certainly give future Hawks some lofty goals to strive for.
Thanks for an entertaining season and carry yourselves with pride as you were the start of something big for Canyon Lake.
Two second place finishes with Volleyball and Football with many players in both sports ready to take the baton for a much anticipated 2017 campaign.
Basketball will take full stage as the Girls Basketball squad started their week with a 1-1 record as they are still looking for a full allotment of starters for the Varsity with games picking up this week.
A road game to Wimberley this Tuesday and then off to a Tournament in San Antonio starting on Thursday.
Take note that coming early will allow the Hawk Nation to see two Sub-Varsity teams take the courts as they finished their first week undefeated with hopes of keeping their strong surge as the season matures.
CL’s Boys Basketball will begin with a road game to Lampasas this coming Tuesday and then come home for a date on Friday with Fox Tech at the Hawk Nest.
The Boys have a lot of returning players and will be aiming for a better finish than last season that landed the Hawks with their first invitation to a new endeavor in qualifying for the playoffs.
This could be a break out year for this group of young man as this pre season practices has had the most players not playing football which gives a chance for basketball rats that will give a chance for lofty goals as in field goals.
Go Hawks!!
