Canyon Lake had a good week of Round-Ball as both Boys and Girls won their Varsity games as the Girls are sitting on a 5 game winning streak while the Boys sport a 4 game winning streak.
The Ladies will have one more game this Monday before their Christmas Break begins. La Vernia will be a good test of Canyon Lake as this team has already faced Fredericksburg and that will help give the team and Coaches an idea of where they might stand before District 29-4A gets going when the New Year comes calling.
CL Lady Hawks will then return from having opening Christmas gifts by heading to Burnet for a 3-day tournament as the best ingredient for improving this club is by having a multitude of contests as game experience helps the growing up period.
For the Boys, Canyon Lake is already on their Break and will return to action in Fredericksburg two days after Christmas.
This tournament is a round-robin and the games have already been set and this set of games will be a challenge as their does not seem to have any softies in the mix.
That will also be a good indicator on how well this year’s version of round ball might play out when District 29-4A begins in early January. The Hawks will have 8 more non-district tilts before they start district with Hondo on January 13th.
A fun part of this season will be having CLB (Canyon Lake Broadcasting) starting their carrying the games when that district schedules tip-offs.
The Lady Soccer Team will begin their season with a scrimmage the end of this year against Brackenridge at the Hawk Nest.
This Week @ Canyon Lake will be adding more to the schedule as the Sports Calendar will begin to fill up with softball/baseball/track/etc. You get the idea, a lot of activities to keep your schedule full of fun watching Canyon Lake Sports.
Go Hawks and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
