The Hawk Swimming Team won their Overall Meet in Burnet by one point over Wimberley as the Boys took first place to help catapult the Aqua Hawks to their 3rd win in a row for smaller schools swim teams.
Hawks do swim as they have been seen in waters catching fish, this would also lead to a diving team which is what Canyon Lake needs to garner more points. Canyon Lake racked up enough points to win this meet without a diving portion of the competition.
Now the Hawks will go on a winter break and start their spring season for some bigger prizes and hopefully bigger fish.
Go Hawks and Congratulations.
The Lady Hawks won both of their games this past week and recognized their 2 senior players in Friday’s win over Florence.
Sarah Russell and Mia Riali have both been fixtures for Canyon Lake and will have a chance of helping this year’s team in making another run in the playoffs in trying to match last year’s team.
This year’s District 28-4A has some good clubs and it will be an uphill battle in having a chance for climbing that playoff mountain. Both games this week will be on the road as the Hawks visit Navarro and Austin Travis.
Navarro had a long Volleyball run and sport a losing record but this week’s game will be a better Panther team as their team has been at full strength as those players get more reps playing basketball.
The Austin Travis comes into this week’s game with just one win and this might give the Hawks another chance of getting those repetitions needed to sharpen their ball handling and shooting skills.
For the Boy’s team, CL will have a home Tuesday game with Pleasanton starting at 5pm and then a bout with Jourdanton on the road this Friday.
The Hawks finished their tournament with 2 wins and will look to improve going into the Christmas break. Canyon Lake finished tied with Randolph and Wimberley in The Canyon Lake Classic Tournament last week-end.
Both CL games will be with schools that sport winning records and the Jourdanton game will give the Hawks a chance to see how they might fare with Hondo as one of those wins was against the Owls.
Go Hawks!!
