CL Hawks JV win 10th game in a row over Bandera as the Lake’s Defense took center stage in grinding out this win, 33-26.

“We did not hit our shots,” Head JV Coach Hooper said. “We grinded out a win and sometimes it is not pretty but we will take it.”

Spoken like a Dad of the 7 ugly ducklings while trying to put make-up on those Hawks.

Gongrats on the 10 game streak

After shooting a team low of 26% from the field, Canyon Lake relied on their defense to secure game as their hot streak will be on the line next Friday when the Boerne JV come to town.

The Hawks scored the first 5 points of the second quarter in the first 2 minutes for their largest lead, 18-2 over the Bulldogs.

From their to the end of the game, the Hawk were infected with the same ailment that was inflicting their opponent as both teams made making shots like being in a dentist chair getting teeth pulled.

Yes, this was a painful game and win to see but this team can now stand with the 2011 Hawk Football team and last year’s District Champion Volleyball by reaching the 10 win-in-a-row mantra.

How the Hawks got their in this contest will never show up in the record books and reaching the next plateau will come calling next Friday with those swift Greyhounds.

CL would go cold after Tae Gray went coast to coast with a steal and lay-up for that 18-2 lead in the 3rd Stanza. It would take 7 minutes before the next Hawk basketball would be felt by the end of the net.

Hillside Chiropractic says Congrats on Streak

Michael Harwell accomplished beating the drought after draining two free throws. Canyon Lake was able to score just 5 field goals in the second half as this game would cause many of the fans to get out sun glasses to shield them from the blinding sun.

The ReSporter needed to come up with an answer for all those misses and having the sun in your eyes was the only analogy to accomplish that feat.

The Hawk’s defense was helped with 5 blocks and stealing the rock 12 times to keep the Bulldogs on all four legs as they found it hard to score.

Now the next hurdle to jump is reaching Volleyball’s Record of 21 consecutive wins. Get those sunglasses on so you’re are not injured looking for those hurdles.

Go Hawks and Congrats on the Record!!
