Hawk’s Boy’s & Girl’s Basketball have Tough Night
Canyon Lake had a tough go at it last Tuesday as both Varsity Basketball Teams took it on the chin.
The Girls hosted the Boerne Greyhounds and this game was over quick as the State Ranked Greyhounds had a good all-round game with a heavy dose of offense and a lethal half court trap that kept the Hawks with very few offensive opportunities.
CL Girls will be on the road on Friday as they travel to Hondo to meet up with an Owls team that have been ranked earlier this year. Hondo lost their game with Bandera last Tuesday and will not be a happy team when CL enters their gym.
Canyon Lake will need to be on their ‘A’ game again as this is a brutal district with little room for mistakes as opponents will make you pay.
The Boys had their last pre-district contest in a loss to Wimberley on Tuesday as a poor 3rd Quarter spelled their doom as Canyon Lake came out of their half-time locker room uninspired.
“We just could not get stops and came out lackadaisical,” Head Coach Lucas Chapman said. “They just played a lot better than us.”
CL Coach Chapman was to the point as now letting down is not an option as District 28-4A starts on Friday with a tilt with Hondo at the Hawk Nest.
Canyon Lake has a decent chance of making the playoffs but having those inconsistencies will be magnified during this time of the season.
The game will be Live-Streamed if you are not able to attend the contest and a turn a round is necessary for both round-ball teams.
Go Hawks and Beat Hondo!!
