Lady Hawks Have Tough Climb after Loss to Bandera, 50-39

                                                                      Go Hawks and Fly High!!

The Lady Hawks will have a tough climb to reach the playoff podium after a hard fought loss to Bandera last Friday night, 50-39.

The ReSporter has commented on how tough District 28-4A is and Bandera took care of a Hondo Owl team in their first district game that made a statement that the Bulldogs would not be an easy foe on your schedule either.

Pink Elephant says Go Lady Hawks

CL has now completed their first round of games and find themselves still looking for their first win against two State Ranked schools with another team formerly in that club.

Then to top it off, Bandera, invited themselves to the party with their first district win that was already mentioned.

Canyon Lake’s hill to climb has now become a mountain as this young club still might have a year or two before they can start competing at a higher level.

Two Junior’s finished in double digit scoring with Reagan Heun (15) and Alexa Ramos (12) as the next highest Hawk scorer finished with 4 points.

Now with the promotion of Lainee Moses from the JV-1 team, the Hawks have 3 Freshman players on their 9 person roster, leaving very little room for mistakes.

With all of that going against them, CL did perform well as they only trailed by 6 points at halftime. That gives a casual observer pause in knowing it does not take much more in order to start competing for trophies.

Ramos became the All-Time leading steals technician after passing Amber Ramsey on this night after 6 steals against the Bulldogs.

Canyon Lake has two more in this category still going strong as Ramos will certainly be well cemented into a stratosphere that might not be reached anytime soon.

The Hawks will be back in action on Friday when they start their murderous row of 2nd round district games when they travel to Boerne.

CL’s JV-1 team continues to shine and that squad has a heavy dose of freshman on that roster. Those girls are primarily playing other JV teams that would have Sophomores and Juniors checking in at the table.

Tough year but great times ahead as the Hawks go to work to see if they can turn the tide and make a run in this campaign.

Go Hawks!!
