             ===========———————————=======================————————————==============

Hawk Swimming Meet will commence on Saturday as this is the culmination of their season after having success in previous years.

Alternative Pest Control says          Go Hawks

The Swim Team won their small division meet held in Burnet for the last 3 years and now CL will go against some larger schools while not having a diving element to their team, making this a hard meet to get to the top.

Diving competition is a loss of potential points and that will have Canyon Lake behind the 8-Ball in coming out on top. Not having this element for competition would be much like a Track & Field Meet having schools that have athletes that are only in running events.

The Swimming facilities are not available for the team. Good Luck and bring home some smiles with those awards.

The rest of this week has a lot of Soccer with both Girls and Boys Basketball teams having a bye on Tuesday and then getting back to work on Friday.

CL’s Ladies, at this writing has a shot if they can subdue the Hondo Owls when they return on the round-robin schedule. Another victory would be nice but if the Hawks can beat the Owls then CL would need Bandera to beat Hondo this Tuesday for that opening and a chance of making this year’s playoffs.

The Boy’s Basketball Team still have one more school to play before their first round of games are in the books. Boerne will finish that task when they come to CL this Friday.

Italian Garden Says Go              Canyon Lake

Canyon Lake has 2 wins in district which gives the Hawks a great chance of making the playoffs for the 2nd time in as many seasons.

To miss out on that opportunity, CL would have to lose the remainder of their games and then a possible rematch with the winner of the Hondo vs. Bandera game.

Canyon Lake laid an egg in their tilt with Fredericksburg on Tuesday and then got back on track with a win over Bandera last Friday.

The game this Friday will give the Hawks another chance to have a signature win for confidence. With a win, it would increase the possibility of having a lower seed from District 27-4A. That is the group of schools matched up for Bi-District Playoff games.

Soccer keeps on kicking as both Hawk teams are enjoying winning seasons.

              Way to Go Hawks!!

The Ladies took care of business with a blow out win over San Antonio Christian (7-1) and this week will get back to action against La Vernia and Antonian.

La Vernia will be a grudge match for the Lady Hawks as they will look to avenge an earlier season loss to the Bears. The Hawks lost to LV in their Championship game at the Pleasanton Tournament, 1-0.

So look for some fireworks as Canyon Lake tries to improve as all of the ladies 3 losses have had identical scores of, 0-1.

All close games, which gives the Hawks a chance with some minor adjustments to turn those previous scores into CL’s favor.

This will be the last week of having just one or two sports represented. Next week will have Softball making their entrance and then an onslaught of teams from Baseball to Track to Golf….you get the idea.

Go Hawks!!
