Canyon Lake’s Boys Soccer look to finish strong after beating Bandera, 2-0 on Friday night.

The Hawks will now take a week off and welcome Fredericksburg to the Hawk Nest this coming Friday for a chance to reverse an earlier one goal loss to the Billies.

CL has not been in this stratosphere ever and now will see what weightlessness might feel like with a win over the Billies.

Take in a 14-5-2 overall record and now with a very respectable 3-2-2 district number going into this last game.

Grayson Rohrbacher was on his game again, scoring 2 goals while the Hawks defense only allowed two shots on goal with Brayden Damico taking care of those shots for the shut out.

Rohrbacher now has 30 goals this season and has 8 more than Mike Thorpe finished with last year which is a nice company to be associative with.

Those 30 goals are more than Canyon Lake had as a team in their first six years of soccer as last season’s group had more.

Damico had 42 goals scored on him last year and at this point of the year has yielded only 30 as the Hawk defense coupled with the offense is having CL needing an oxygen mask as they continue their climb to the playoffs.

Fredericksburg beat Boerne and now Canyon Lake will be seeded 3rd in district while Bandera will round out the top 4 teams.

The Billies will enter next week’s contest needing a win for a chance to finish tied for first, so Fredericksburg will be highly motivated for a win.

Hawks takes no Bull from Opponents!!      Go Hawks

District 27-4A team’s get a bye for the first round of playoffs and they will have a, wait and see time, to see who might advance for their second round match-up.

Canyon Lake, being a 3rd seed, will be pitted against the winner of the game between District 25 winner and the fourth place school from District 26.

Salado could be that school in District 25 as this Eagle team presently has a 20-1 overall record and is undefeated in their district.

La Grange will probably be that 4th seed in District 26-4A and they lost to Wimberley earlier this season.

A rocket scientist would guess that Salado might be the first opponent for the Hawks in the second round.

The Eagles have played Wimberley a couple of times and have beaten the Texans during the middle of February, 3-0. Boerne was another opponent the Hawks are familiar with and Salado won that contest, 2-1.

Fun times for Canyon Lake and their Soccer teams as the Girls will be an entrant to the playoffs once again as they await Fredericksburg on the road to end the regular season next week.
