The ReSporter next Canyon Lake game article will come in a little more than 2 months as Volleyball will be going strong as August gets hot.
CL’s Volleyball team is still the only group to win a district championship and also sports the best team win percentage as this next season will have a lot of Freshman that will be classified as Sophomores as well as having several players that look to make a run for more accolades.
The ReSporter was able to catch up with Coach Paisley for a precursor for this coming school year.
The ReSporter: What have you seen during this off-season that gives you hope that this year’s team might have a chance of making it to the top in district?
Coach Paisley: “The off-season has been going great! The girls have been working hard in the weight room and with their conditioning. The girls have been competitive and really trying get better and take themselves to that next level.”

The ReSporter: By having such a competitive Freshman class this past year, how does that make the whole team better?
Coach Paisley: “This Freshman group is a well rounded group of freshman. They were exciting to watch during volleyball season! They are athletic and highly competitive! They have been huge contributors to many sports and their programs this year overall! We as a coaching staff have been very excited about their accomplishments and cannot wait to see their development over the next 3 years!”
The ReSporter: What do you know about your district this season and do you think that Fredericksburg might be the favorite?
Coach Paisley: “We are going into this season with the attitude to be at the top. We had the opportunity to be tied for first in district, and fell short in that 5 set match. We expect to be in the playoffs, and we will be knocking on the door for another district title. In order to do this, we must be hungry all season! I know the girls are ready!
The ReSporter: What will be some ‘bucket’ lists you will want for your Varsity during this upcoming season?
We are Hawk Proud of Volleyball
Coach Paisley: “Gold Bracket in all 3 Tournaments, and at least win one tournament.”
“District Championship…again.”
“Make it deeper into the playoffs!!!! We have got to get past the 2nd round!!!!!”
