Volleyball: CL Hawks Win Two at Rattler Tournament
CL Hawks win two of their scheduled Volleyball games on Thursday at the Rattler Tournament in San Marcos.
With the incoming Harvey Hurricane the tournament will not have any scheduled games for Saturday and the Hawks have also called off their Friday night game with Blanco for that same reason.
Canyon Lake won against Del Valle and Keller Central on Thursday as the Hawks have won their last 4 games against 6A schools with that sweep.
Anna Bettersworth finished the two games leading CL with 17 blocks as neither opponent had a solution for her attack.
Senior Faith Hasness was also on target with a two game total of 27 assists which is a huge area Canyon Lake will need to stay on top as each day has district getting closer much like Harvey approaching the Texas Coast.
On having a no-play weekend, Head Coach Kim Paisley said, “Frustrated, we lose out on 4 matches this weekend, but I totally understand the severity of traveling and I want everyone to be safe.”
“We played well today,” Coach Paisley continued. “We carried the energy from Tuesday night over into today’s pool play…Keller Central was the tougher team in our pool and our girls fought through to the end for the win.”
Canyon Lake will now be home next Tuesday for their next contest when Marion comes calling to the Hawk Nest.
