Hawks Hit Snooze Button in Loss to Johnson City, 2-3

CL Hawks came out flat and flat out lost to the Johnson City Eagles in a 5 game set on Tuesday.

“They were hungry because we had beat them at the Tex-Fest Tournament,” Head Coach Kim Paisley stated. “They were more fired up than us.”

Canyon Lake dug a hole that had them down two games before an awakened team started showing some life but JC took the reins and finished off the visiting team.

Y4 Custom Homes says let’s Go Hawks!!

When the Hawks started playing better, they would take the next two games in the same fashion as they had lost those two games to start this contest.

The exact same score to be exact but fighting back became a habit as the fifth game started like the night did with CL starting off by having the Eagles to soar out to a 5 point lead and having Canyon Lake coming back with a chance of winning it all.

JC broke the serve and then scored two points to take the game and set in grand fashion.

Canyon Lake will not get much rest before Friday comes and having a ranked Navarro team coming to the Hawk Nest for a showdown.

On what will need to be done, Coach Paisley quipped, “This has been a roller-coaster year and we are young and inexperienced talent….but we will need to work on lots of passing and defensive drills and our setting needs more work.”

A lot to do in three days but there is not any other way as these type of wake-up calls only work if you get up and don’t hit the snooze button.

Go Hawks!!
