Sonora Insurance is all in for the Canyon Lake Hawks!
Canyon Lake was half and half last week as the Varsity Volleyball team was 0fer in their two games with Johnson City and Navarro.
Both Sub-Varsity Volleyball squads were on the winning side of the court as these two teams seem to be hitting a stride that will hopefully continue through this season.
Take into account that the Hawk JV have 4 of their teammates playing for the Varsity will give you an indication on how this group of ladies might mirror the Senior Class that graduated 2 years ago with several Hawk ladies that did not lose a lot of games.
This week, CL will look to rebound with their Volleyball will take them to Austin Akins on Tuesday and then a home game with Wimberley. That would be a good game to attend since the Hawk Football Squad will be preparing for their game in Giddings.
Then after the Volleyball win, you can tune into the Live-Stream and listen to the Hawk Football game.
The Football Hawks rambled through Austin on Thursday night and took care of Reagan Raiders for their 2nd win in as many games.
This week will be a chance for CL to see where they stand as they will meet their hardest team to date that has suffered two losses to Wimberley and Navarro to open their season.
With a road game, it should be a humdinger as you will have a team ready to get a win in front of their home crowd and that will always prove to be a hurdle that a player could trip trying to clear.
A win will have Canyon Lake facing Wimberley the next week in the battle of the Devil’s Backbone.
Should be a fun couple of weeks as the Volleyball team continues to ready themselves for the start of District Play on September 26th and the Football crew trying to switch two losses to wins during the last two campaigns.
CL’s Sub-Varsity football will be playing at the Hawk Stadium as the undefeated JV team and Freshman look to start a sweep of the Buffaloes.
