Canyon Lake put Eastside on the Westside of Austin after blitzing the Panthers, 56-0.

The game was not pretty with a 28 point first quarter against this hapless Austin School.

This win put CL in a tie with Boerne as the Greyhounds cleared a major hurdle in what will certainly be a competitive district race.

“We are right where we want to be,” Head Coach Charlie Drum stated.
We will need to play our best game of the year and we will need to have our best practices of the year this week.”

You Get’em this time. Go Hawks!!

Coach Drum was already looking to the future as the Boerne Greyhounds are next in line.

“Boerne is very physical and we will need to be focused with everything we do this week,” Coach closed.

It did not take long for Eastside to be outclassed as the Hawks took just 3 plays to move 48 yards and the first score on a Tanner Faris 8 yard run. This drive was highlighted with a Micah St. John 30 yard run. It was St. John’s only run for the night.

The Panthers were clawless throughout the game as Canyon Lake kept their claw clipping device out for this whole game rendering their opponent without any weapon to stop this school from moving from the eastside of Austin to the westside.

CL would score 42 points in that first half as the clock would start running with no stops in that 2nd quarter.

        Go Hawks

QB Ben Fulton was perfect with his 4 passes as Tanner Faris would cap this part of the Hawk’s game with a 68 and 31 touchdown receptions in that first quarter.

J.T. Greene was the other Hawk with two catches for 41 yards in the contest.

Canyon Lake used 10 plays to score 35 points, with three one play scoring drives, for their highlight night.

                           One Play Drives

A Ben Fulton to Tanner Faris 31 yard pass play.

A Tristan Chacon 57 yard running play.

A Ben Fulton to Tanner Faris 68 yard pass play.

CL’s first four drives took took 1:30 of clock time in that first quarter.

Canyon Lake would have 28 plays for 432 yards for a lofty average of 15.4 yards per play.

Eastside Memorial’s roster had a slew of students with Freshman or Sophomore pedigrees giving you a good idea of how out classed this game would be.

Alayna-Gayle says Go Hawks

Early in the first quarter, Canyon Lake, would use the Fridge Package as Senior Offensive Lineman Jacob Foster would have a taste of what he has done for a countless number of Hawk runners, When he took the rock for a yard to paydirt.

Foster was most outstanding offensive player last season being a lineman, as that might be the first time an offeinvee lineman has garnered that much accolades for his craft.

QB Fulton passed Jeff Nabors for third place in passing yardage as those for completions he threw went for 140 yards of real estate.

Now Fulton will have QB Branson Belcher on his radar as he has a 6 touchdown lead in throwing for touchdowns.

A good game for all the players as the quality of opponent will increase ten-fold when the Hawks take the short trip to Boerne to take on the Greyhounds with both schools sporting 1-0 records as district play continues.

Canyon Lake will look to keep their winning streak going strong.

Go Hawks!!
