CL Hawks Taken to Wood Shed in Loss to Billies, 3-0
Canyon Lake’ s Volleyball team were taken to the wood-shed in last night’s loss to Fredericksburg, losing 3-0.
The battle was with two unbeaten District 28-4A schools as the Billies will now be in position to hold down the 1st Place lane as the second round will commence next week.
CL was not in this game from the outset as the Hawks reached the 20 point plateau on their 3rd game of the set, 17-25, 19-25, and 20-25.
An idea of how the Hawks were a no-show in the contest is having the assist leader with just on e assist for the match and just 7 assists to claim.
Canyon Lake will now be in action this Friday as this will be the final contest for the first round robin action.
Bandera will be the opponent as they are winless thus far in district play.
Playoffs go to the top 4 teams and the first round opponent will be a team from District 27-4A which has two schools that are ranked in the upper echelon this year.
In a game played last Friday, Canyon Lake beat Hondo on the road which would be the 200th win for the Volleyball team which is by far the best record for all the Hawk’s sports as the school is in their 10th year of competition.
Come early this Friday and watch the Volleyball play Bandera before your walk to the Gridiron for the football game with Austin Akins.
