Another week and this year’s Volleyball is now in a win or go home time of the season. It will be a repeat of what happened last year as CL finished 2nd in District 28-4A and will be matched with the Texans who finished 3rd in District 27-4A.
Finishing third will not give you a this team might not be good feeling as Wimerley’s district has two teams (Navarro & La Vernia) that are ranked in the top 10 Statewide.
The game will be held in New Braunfels at Canyon High School with a first serve time of 7:00pm.
This will not be a busy week, so there are no excuses in not showing your school pride for the Green and Gold Volleyball team.
Last week was a good week for the Football teams as the Hawk Varsity are all alone at the top of district play. Taylor is 1/2 game behind as CL has played one more game than the Ducks.
Taylor will be matched with Fredericksburg this week and a Billie win would give Canyon Lake a share of the District 14-4A Crown and a win over Taylor would have your Hawks with their first out right, district championship.
CL had a lot of Seniors honored last Friday and this crew are guaranteed a playoff spot and with a win next week will give the Hawks a first seed and being matched against the 4th seed in District 13-4A school.
The Lady Hawks had their first scrimmage last Saturday and played Fox Tech. No score but the Hawks looked good as this young squad has another year under their belt. Canyon Lake has some salty Seniors ready for a chance of making the playoffs again with hopes of putting a dent in another school’s bus this time around.
San Antonio Brooks Academy will be at the Hawk Nest this Friday with the Sub-Varsity tipping off at 5pm and then the Varsity takes the court at 6:30pm.
Watch the ReSporter for seeing if the Hawk Volleyball team will continue their season after the Wimberley game on Tuesday. The day and time will be set in plenty of time to schedule another road trip for the Area Round of playoffs.
Congrats and Go Hawks!!!
